A winter sunset
crescent moon in fading blue
old friend, I greet you

November 9th, 1998

Flakes of morning snow
all the blades of grass
blanketed swiftly
by the love of one season
for another

Taking refuge
from the myth of being busy
I ducked into a familiar pub
to share a pint
with a true friend

Feeling at ease with the world
We watched the rain

a quiet lake and an empty road
we stopped for a rest
to stretch our legs

I opened the back door
to say hello to the morning
at that moment
the sun broke through
producing a smile
upon my face
