Haiku for Jason
A winter sunset
crescent moon in fading blue
old friend, I greet you
November 9th, 1998
Flakes of morning snow
all the blades of grass
blanketed swiftly
by the love of one season
for another
"Rainspotting" -Nov. 10, 1998
Taking refuge
from the myth of being busy
I ducked into a familiar pub
to share a pint
with a true friend
Feeling at ease with the world
We watched the rain
Thursday, Oct. 29th, 1998
Parked between
a quiet lake and an empty road
we stopped for a rest
to stretch our legs
Friday, Oct. 30th, 1998
White of a birch stand
Contrast against a deep blue sky
Four in a canoe
Monday, Oct. 19th, 1998
I opened the back door
to say hello to the morning
at that moment
the sun broke through
producing a smile
upon my face
Tues, Oct. 20th, 1998
What will the day bring
whatever it is
let my heart awaken
with every step
