1. The First Peoples' of Canada rank 73rd on the Human Development Index, while the rest of Canada ranks 4th ( reference ) largely due to Canada's Parliament's failure to adequately address the history of discrimination, thus losing out on the strength of equality and partnership while continuing to wallow in injustice.
2. Child Poverty - 18 years after the 1989 all-party resolution of the House of Commons, the child poverty rate is exactly the same. http://www.campaign2000.ca/. Moreover, people who have no choice but to live on disability are forced to live roughly $4000 below the poverty line.
3. Failure on Kyoto (self-explanatory).
4. Failure to address global poverty and Pearson's commitment to commit 0.7% to international development assistance. Cheapness on the world stage.
5. Failure of our Prime Minister to show up at AIDS 2006, and abysmal leadership on anything resembling Canada's role in the world.
6. No plan for peace in Afghanistan, just plans for more combat.
7. Silence of the opposition on the exile of incarcerated mentally ill young man through abuse of discretion contradictory to Canadian law, and abuse of power in the name of national security in the case of Sacha Bond. www.justice4sachabond.org
Perhaps the biggest scandal of all is the pointless and countless hours of parliamentary uselessness in the Schreiber affair. Canadian Parliamentarians are spending more time on this crook, and the person who has benefited most from Parliament's masturbatory and incestous time-wasting, is Karlhein Schreiber himself - he's loving it. Sorry if I mispelled his name, he interests me not.
